Greater Hyderabad, this was always a political too in the hands of parties opposing TRS especially when it comes to ridiculing that the party has no presence in Hyderabad, thereby weakening claims that this mega city will have to be made a separate entity in case Telangana becomes a reality.
Wary of such a move, TRS and especially Harish Rao have clearly crafted a political strategy to make slow but certain inroads into greater Hyderabad region and this effort is definitely yielding fruits as the party was able to win union polls for APSRTC in the region followed by GHMC last year.
In a latest move that would embolden its presence the party has also swept the polls held for Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewage Board shortly called Water Board. By slowly building it cadre the party is all set to challenge it’s opponents one day by even stealing Hyderabad urban region from them.
