A case has been filed for a misleading ads by the Department of Food safety of Uttarakhand against Tendulkar, Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virendra Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan. Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra have also been named in the case.
In Andhra Pradesh cases have been booked against Actor Genelia and Cricketer Sourabh Ganguly for such misleading ads and sponsoring bogus products .While Genelia was booked for promoting a real estate group, Ganguly is in dock for promoting ' one card ' product which bombed .
The Govt campaign against misleading ads have been yielding results that celebrities are caught in web of promoting wrong goods and misleading ads.
