There were 40 lakhs bogus voters in the voters list in the state. That is voters equivalent to size of four parliament and 28 assembly segments was bogus.It is said that their number is more than the invalid votes in the last two general elections .
State chief electoral officer Bhanwarlal has said that such bogus votes were listed due to various factors including political influence in the state .He says door to door review in the 66,700 pollint stations will be conducted across state to weed out the bogus voters who include duplicates and fakes s before the 2014 general elections.
The total number of voters in the state has increased from 5.81 crore to 5.92 crore, of which male voters are 2.97 crore and female voters 2.94 crore.
Chief elec toral officer Bhanwar Lal said the number of transgender voters who did not want to be placed either in the male or female category in the state stood at 2,987.
