1.‘State should focus on funding education institutions’.Continuing his tirade against the state government, TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram wondered how the government could consider the idea of allowing private universities into the state, when government educational institutions are deprived of infrastructure facilities and funds.
2.Villagers urge case be filed against SI, minister’s son.ADILABAD: The family members of 35-year-old, K Tirupathi Reddy, who died under mysterious circumstances, along with villagers staged a rastaroko in front of the RIMS government hospital demanding registration of a case against district in-charge minister’s son and Jainath sub-inspector on Sunday.
3.All-party meet wants TS govt to revive NSF.Leaders of the Congress, the TDP and the Left together on Sunday demanded that the State government to revive Nizam Sugar Factory (NSF), which was privatised earlier and was later shut down, as per its poll promise.
4.Scheme yet to commence in Mahbubnagar.The National Urban House Construction (NUHC) scheme, which was supposed to have kickstarted in Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool municipalities is yet to be commenced in the district.The scheme was launched by the Union government last year. The Centre had also formulated detailed guidelines with four policies. The scheme was launched in 4,042 towns of the country. The list of the towns included Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy towns as well.
5.Government's move to sack scavengers fires stir.Manual scavenging has been a topic of much discussion. The very nature of the job triggers a debate. There is the fact that poor treatment that is meted out to them. There have been calls for better salaries, benefits and regularisation of services.
6.Telangana women's panel seeks compulsory marriage registration to end child marriages .The Telangana State Commission for Women on Monday sought effective implementation of the Compulsory Registration of the Marriage Act to prevent child marriages in the state.
7.Adilabad airport hangs in balance as TS govt delays issuing NOC.The delay in issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Ministry of Defense by the state government has delayed the coming up of the proposed airfield in Adilabad. This has come to light through an RTI query filed by Kasthala Arun Kumar.
8.State to procure 1.2L MT of superfine rice from farmers directly.In order to supply superfine rice to students of all welfare hostels, residential schools and for the midday meals scheme in other schools being run by the state government across the state, finance minister Etela Rajender on Sunday announced that the government had decided to procure 1.2 lakh metric tonnes rice from farmers, directly.
9.Cognizable offense: FIR registration mandatory. The Hyderabad High Court has held that it is not open to police authorities to deviate or show any laxity in taking appropriate action in case a report alleging cognizable criminal offence is received by them.  
10.GO 123: Early nod from  president may clear legal hurdles. In the wake of the High Court’s interim order to the state government asking it not to procure land for projects under the provisions of the controversial GO 123, the state government has begun finding ways of dealing with the land already acquired by it under provisions of the same GO for various projects, including Mallanna Sagar, in the state.


Andhra Pradesh
1.Ganja worth Rs 1.3 crore seized. Around 1,334 kg of ganja worth `1.34 crore was seized and one person arrested by officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) near Benz Circle in Vijayawada on Saturday night. The DRI officials intercepted the mini van carrying the recreational drug, in a secret operation without even informing the local police, to ensure that the smugglers weren’t tipped off.
2.KVP challenges AP CM for debate on Polavaram project. Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao demanded that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu release a white paper on ‘Polavaram project’ with complete details or have an open debate on the subject.
3.Over 10,000 turn up making Amaravati Marathon’s 2nd edition a stellar success.Around 10,000 denizens of the city turned up for the second edition of ‘Jio Amaravati Marathon- 2017’ at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium (IGMC) here on Sunday. The run was organised by the State government in association with DEEP Trust as it reflects “the sprit, enthusiasm and energy which abounds in us as we set about to create a world class people’s capital”.
4.ACB sleuths raid integrated checkposts on Andhra border.The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out surprise raids at seven border checkposts of Andhra Pradesh simultaneously during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. 
5.Dialysis equipment supplied to KGH gather dust for want of RO plant. Even as the government has promised to extend all medical help to the victims of renal ailments at the King George Hospital (KGH) after Jana Sena chief’s puts it on notice over the plights of the victims of Uddanam in Srikakulam district, four new dialysis machines supplied to the hospital are yet to be made functional owing to lack of an RO water plant. The machines were supplied at a cost of `6 lakh each to the KGH to ensure adequate facilities to patients who need dialysis. But, the equipment have been gathering dust in the KGH for the last six months.
6.Don’t test our patience, Mudragada warns Naidu for delaying Kapu quota.Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham on Sunday, questioned Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over the delay in according BC status to the Kapus and warned him against testing the patience of persons of the Kapu community. How many years does the government require to fulfil its promise, he asked.
