People of the world cannot forget the shocking Nirbhaya gang rape on Dec 16,2012. Delhi High Court sentenced four convicts Akshay, Pawan ,Vijay and Mukesh to death terming the crime as the rarest of the rare case. 


Now according to the latest Nirbhaya convicts are getting ready to challenge the High Court judgement in the Supreme Court. The case will be heard by Justice Dipak Mishra.

Supreme Court earlier declined request by two amici curiae - senior counsel Raju Ramachandran and Sanjay R Hegde - to withdraw from assisting the court in the hearing of the appeals by the convicts in the gangrape case.


Justices Dipak Misra, R. Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan said "We can appreciate the anguish expressed by the learned amici curiae". Earlier on Dec 3,  Amicus Curiae Sanjay Hegde questioned the evidence produced by the prosecution in the Nirbhaya gang rape case.
