India is celebrating its 68th Republic Day in a grand manner. India will parade its military might and diverse culture at Rajpath in Delhi in front of the chief guest Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Pranab Mukherjee, PM Modi and other dignitaries will grace the occasion. The Republic Day telecast will start at 9:00 am from Rajpath with a melodious and powerful rendering of Vande Mataram.
In the midst of all this Intelligence agencies warned of terror strikes. Sources say some muslim extremist organisations are planning 9/11 type of attacks. Security forces are asked to conduct proper search and frisking of even police and other personnel as there is a high possibility that terrorists may come as security personnel to carry out attacks.
Advisory sent warned "terrorists may use uniform of security forces for fidayeen attack" It ran "it is imperative for the security forces to be familiar with the range of threats for devising appropriate counter means"
