The recent developments in the South states is sending powerful signals to the North Indian leadership at the centre that they will not tolerate their aggressive domination. Be it protests for traditional jallikattu by people of Tamil Nadu or special status fight by people of Andhra Pradesh, South India is set for revolt against North dominated Central leadership.

These two protests brought to limelight once again that North leadership is not recognising their self respect. South States came to a conclusion that though they respect North leadership at the centre, they will not tolerate their aggressive domination to crush their traditions.

Analysts feel these protests will soon give shock to North leadership at the centre. For many decades North Indian leaders ruled the Country and for few years PV.Narasimha Rao, Deve Gowda ruled the nation. South leaders are no inferior to North leaders and they played key role in the formation of Union Governments on many occasions.

Only South leaders can rule their states unopposed like fomer CMs Jayalalithaa or YS.Rajasekhar Reddy. Compared to the image of Chandra Babu Naidu and KCR, North leaders fan following, image and popularity pales. However they are dominating and deciding the future of the country including that of the south. Only PM Modi defied all of them in popularity and his popularity as CM of Gujarat is akin to popularity of any south leader.

Though South leaders enjoy huge popularity they are not getting recognition at the centre. After Independence, south leaders used to get important cabinet portfolios balancing north-south equations. People of Tamil Nadu sometime back protested against Hindi domination and even went to the extent of separating from the country. Even in history Northern Kings attaked South rulers and even plundered the wealth unlike South kings who never attacked Northern Kingdoms.

Analysts feel if this continues, this may lead to dangerous proportions. Compared to North,South is developing at fast rate but even then North leaders are crushing South states. As North states have high representation in Parliament, they are diverting funds and all schemes to their region and analysts feel if north south balance is not maintained, and south India not given importance at the centre, then South states may demand speration from the country.
