All political parties play with the lives of muslims. They act as if they are the champions of muslims and despite the constitutional and legal difficulties promise stars taking them for a ride.
For quite some time successive governments in various states tried to accord reservations to muslims though it is unconstitutional as Indian Constitution opposed any reservations based on religion. But as parties see muslims as vote bank,they are trying to lure them with promise of reservations.
Many governments tried to implement muslim reservations and Supreme Court quashed even 4% reservations to them. Under these circumstances Telangana CM KCR in order to fulfill his poll promise cleared bill for 12% reservations to muslims.
Cabinet which met for three hours discussed in detail the measures to be taken to bring a Tamil Nadu-type Act to implement quotas over and above the Supreme Court prescribed reservation limit of 50 per cent. It has to be seen whether it will stand the legal scrutiny and pass Supreme Court test.
