Ahead of the assembly elections in the India's largest state Uttar Pradesh, respective parties are expressing confidence of winning the elections. According to the latest SP-Cong alliance is the most favoured and preferred by the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Sources say in Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh, people from all walks of life who have spoken to are preferring currrent CM Akhilesh yadav. They are infact supporting his coup against his ageing father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Dinesh Lal, a businessman in his late 60s said "Akhilesh has come out of the shadow of his father and uncles (Shivpal Yadav and Ramgopal Yadav)," What surprises people is Lal's family had been
associated with RSS but he says he will not vote for the BJP.

He says "There is a huge difference between what the BJP says and does", and adds "We don't want to be ruled by RSS as it has happened in Haryana. They brought an RSS face as Chief Minister... BJP must announce its Chief Ministerial candidate here. They can't take voters for granted."

Hazratganj resident, Nandji Raj says "Have you been on the Agra-Lucknow expressway? Have you seen the work on Lucknow Metro? All have been completed in record time," Girija Kumar says law and order is an issue but added he would still vote for Akhilesh "as he has led the state on the development path".

Rakesh Kumar, a motor parts shop says "Before (the) 2014 (Lok Sabha polls), the BJP promised many things for businessmen but what have they done? "We suffered due to demonetisation. Our business has dropped a lot since November 8. It is very hard for us to cope with such an environment."

Harikrishan Singh, a professor added "Akhilesh has emerged as a strong man from this infighting. He has given a new hope by overshadowing his father and uncle." Singh was furious that the BJP was again promising to build a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya. "People are not fools. This idea of raking up this issue just before every election shows their mentality of polarising votes," he said. "It is not going to help them."

Ateeq Aslam, said Congress will benefit from the alliance. Muslims preferred development and they didnot talk abut Dadri,Muzaffarnagar and Kairana violence. Adnan Mirza,23yrs old says Whatever happened elsewhere in the state didn't affect us. We feel safe." and added "And I am sure if Akhilesh bhaiya (brother) wins, he will surely do so as he has dumped his uncles." referring law and order problems.

Aradhana Singh, 27 says women are not secure and added "So I will vote for the BJP." Taxi driver Prem Singh 39 yrs old says "We need someone to safeguard the rights of Dalits," He added "Under Akhilesh, it is Yadavwad. Officers don't pay heed to atrocities on Dalits."
