When former CM Pannerselvam, trusted aide of Jayalalithaa raised rebellion against Sasikala, not only AIADMK party members but also all other parties got shock of their life. They wondered how a meek and mild Pannerselvam who always follows the orders of his bosses got the courage to dare the all powerful Sasikala and her Mannargudi mafia.
Many suspected some hidden power behind him and suspected Union Government's backing. Though nothing cameout in open, the talk of hidden power increased after Minister Pandiarajan switched loyalties giving shock to Sasikala faction.
Padiaran who used to be loyal to Sasikala right from the start suddenly switched sides , joined Pannerselvam and launched blistering attack on sasikala shocking everyone. Some say intense developments happened behind these developments. There are other reasons behind MPs and MLAs shifting towards Pannerselvam.
Padiarajan is a top industrialist and used to be with the DMK. Pandiarajan realised Jayalalithaa's strength and joined AIADMK two years back. Sources say Sasikala helped him get the assembly seat though he is the trusted man of Jayalalithaa. From then on he started respecting Sasikala.
Sasikala too believed him more strongly than any others and she gave him freedom to move anywhere. Reposing her faith Pandiarajan went hammer and tongs on Pannerselvam. However things changed quickly with one call from Delhi which forced him to shed his loyalty towards Sasikala.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley spoke to him directly and convinced him to support Pannerselvam. He at once switched sides and gave unexpected shock to Sasikala. Now how Jaitley convinced Pandiarajan is a million dollar question.
