Sasikala’s proxy Palani samy arises as the new Chief Minister of Tamilnadu with the Governor Mr. Vidyasagar Rao asking him to form the Government as the former had clear numbers. With this Panneer Selvam’s a 10 day long battle for CM’s chair comes to an end.
Earlier Palanisami had met Governor and gave him the list of his MLA’s who supported him. This was the second time that Mr.Palani had met the Governor within a span of 24 hours. The Governor who had been facing a huge criticism from various sections for the delay in Tamil political crisis had finally gone with the numbers and not the sentiment. An official statement regarding the appointment of Palani sami as Chief Minister of the state was also released by Rajbhavan.
The Governor had given 15 days time for the floor test said the statement. But palani is very confident that he would have his numbers and without wasting any time said that he would take the floor test as early as Monday. Palani Sami will sworn in as Chief Minister any time today.
A four time MLA from Eddapadi constituency of Selam district, Palani sami belongs to the strong gounder community. He occupied the number three position in the Late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s cabinet. Mr. sami also stood by Amma when there was a split in the party in 1987 after the AIADMK founder and the then Chief Minister MGR’s demise. After Amma’s death Palani Sami was the first person to say publicly that Sasikala should become the CM.
