It happens always during all railway and road accidents. Anti socials grab anything they could snipe- cash, jewellery, ATM and credit cards, and mobile phones.
Same thing happened even in the flood and holocaust hit Chardham in Uttarkhand .Ironically the anti socials laden with bagfuls of gold, cash and credit cards used the Army helicopters to fly away with the loot.
While many got away, some were caught cash bags with Rs.3.5 crore in currency besides jewelry shocking their rescuers of the Military. Thieves were trying to get away pretending to be pilgrims .
Preliminary disclosed that crooks had looted the gold, cash and also credit and debit cards from dead bodies in the flood and cyclone hit Kedarnath area.
Investigations revealed that the operators were part of a big network and had stayed back to steal and rob the injured. Police reported that atleast 10 ATMS were robbed and about 35 had been swept away in flood waters at Badrinath and Josh mutt. Uttarkhand CM has directed police to make a list of public and private property losses immediately .
