Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh is popular for his love towards muslims. Many times he went hammer and tongs on Modi,BJP,RSS and tried to be the champion of muslims. He even sought to link 26/11 Mumbai Attacks as the handiwork of RSS and tried to appease muslims by addressing terrorists like Hafeez Sayeed as Hafeez Sayeed Ji.
Under these circumstances Digvijay Singh invited the wrath of the muslims with his recent hate tweet. Expressing his views he posted on social media “Is there a difference between Madrasssas and Saraswati Shishu Mandir Schools run by RSS ? I don't think so. Both spread Hatred. (sic).“
MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi took strong exception to Digvijay's tweet. He asked Muslim socio-religious organisations, including the Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind, to take note of this `hatred'.Even senior Congress leader Abid Rasool Khan expressed his displeasure.
Hafiz Peer Shabbir, Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chief condemning Digvijay's statement said “I want him (Digvijaya Singh) to show me if any madrassa has weapons stashed in it? This is a part of a larger conspiracy which seeks to have no imams, muftis and aalims,“
