Chennai sources have stated that V.K. Sasikala was elected as the general secretary by the general counsel of the party and it was an interim arrangement, said the AIADMK spokesperson Panruti S. Ramachandran on Wednesday.
“The general council, as a body, elected her till regular arrangement is made. The bylaws of the party constitution are not preventive against her election,” Mr. Ramachandran he had said when asked the party’s position on the notice sent by the Election Commission on the election of Ms Sasikala as general secretary of the AIADMK.
Meanwhile when asked whether the party would take action against former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and 10 other MLAs for violating party whip and voting against the government, he said it would be decided at an appropriate time.
