Parents of school children for long have been fighting against abnormal hike in school fees by private schools. Despite High Court directions, private schools are finding new ways to hike fees and Government too turning a blind eye.
This came as shock to parents who face extreme difficulties in paying the exorbitant fees. Supreme Court of India came with many directives but private schools and their managements are exploiting the loopholes in the system.
Now in a shocker it is comingout that a whistleblower who exposed fraud in a private school was stabbed. 34 years old RTI activist Madhu Babu sought information on private schools by filing several RTI applications to expose wrongdoings and he was stabbed by a masked man near Jagadgirigutta bus stop at 9.45 pm on Thursday night.
Madhubabu said “I could not see the attacker as his face was covered, but I suspect it could be done at the behest of the private schools' lobby.I had tried to expose how several schools were running without recognition from the district education office. Many of them fleece parents by collecting excess fees,“
P.Srinivas, SHO at Jagadgirigutta police said “We have registered a case and are investigating,“. Madhubabu had reportedly lodged a complaint over violation of the Flag Code after the Tricolour was seen hung wrongly atop the Jagadgirigutta police station.SHO Srinivas did not speak about this at present.
This was the second attack in 5 months. On Oct 4th, PM.Sai Prasad RTI activist was attacked by 15 people. He said “I was attacked by goons affliated to a political leader of the ruling party after I filed an RTI application and complaint on unauthorised constructions done on the name of the leader's wife,“
