1.  Kansas shooting shatters Indian engineer's American dream :  Working, partying and travelling across the United States, Indian aviation engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was living his American dream in Kansas. That dream was shattered on Wednesday night.
2.  Private hospitals wreck TB records :  An RTI query by Mr. Mujtaba Hassan, an RTI activist, on the number of TB cases reported in the state last year elicited a shocking revelation of about 45,000 cases in the state of Telangana.
3.  Haj House to get new coat of paint :  : An 11-storied Haj House building in the capital city is set to get repainted after almost 15 years. Newly elected chairman of Telangana State Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem formally signed the file to allocate Rs 71 lakh for painting the building soon after assuming the charge on Friday.
4.Hyderabad: HC seeks state answers on Bhoodan board formation :  The Hyderabad High Court has asked the Telangana government to file an affidavit within two weeks giving reasons for not constituting the Bhoodan Yagna Board.
5.  BJP leader’s car hits culvert :  : BJP floor leader and Amberpet MLA G. Kishan Reddy’s car met with an accident at Medchal on Thursday night. Mr Reddy was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash but his assistant, who was in the car, sustained injuries.
6.  Body left unattended for 90 mins as police argue over jurisdiction :  The body of a TB patient remained near 'She toilet' opposite Charminar for almost an hour and a half as police from two police stations argued over the jurisdiction.  A hospital ambulance refused to remove the body as the patient was dead. After a while, police took the body to Osmania Morgue.
7.  11 drown in water bodies of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh :  Eleven people drowned in the rivers and lakes of the Telugu states on Friday while taking holy baths before prayers on Maha Sivarathri. Four youths who went to bathe in the Godavari River in the Hajipur mandal of Mancherial district in TS were drowned.
8.  Ex-MLA Goud blames cops, Govt for framing false charges against him :  Former Alair MLA B. Bikshamaiah Goud said that he was framed in cases due to political vendetta. He blamed the police saying that they were reopening old cases without the court’s permission.
9.  Call them Village Revenue Assistants, not Vettis: CM :  Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday announced that the salaries of Village Revenue Assistants, who were appointed on hereditary basis, would be raised by 64.61% — from the existing Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 10,500 plus an additional increment of Rs. 200 for achieving Telangana.
10.  KCR’s donation not from taxpayers’ money: TPM :  The Temples Protection Movement has taken exception to the criticism against the donation made by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to Tirumala temple on Wednesday. 


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Palle’s concern on Telugu youth’s death in the US :  Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology and NRI Empowerment and Relations Palle Raghunadha Reddy has expressed shock over the killing of Kuchibhotla Srinivas in Kansas, the US. He conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
2.  Thomson Reuters, Visa to launch operations in Vizag next month :  Multinationals, Thomson Reuters and Visa, will launch their operations at the FinTech Tower in the Madhurawada IT Special Economic Zone next month, giving a big push to efforts to transform Visakhapatnam into a prominent financial technology hub.
3.  Trump and gun laws under fire :  The suspected hate attack in Kansas City that left Hyderabad man Srinivas Kuchibhotla dead on Wednesday brought US President Donald Trump and that country’s gun policies in the line of fire on social media.
4.  GST will increase tax revenue: Official :  This would probably be the last year that Central Excise celebrated the Central Excise Day here on Friday. The Central Excise Day is celebrated every year on February 24.
5.  YSRC demands scrapping of G0 290 :  The YSR Congress has demanded scrapping of GO MS 290 that paved the way for land pooling in Viskhapatnam. The GO is being wrongly used by a few influential realtors and it is not in favour of farmers and land owners.
6.  Tirupati region nets Rs. 1,096 cr. central excise duty :  The Tirupati Central Excise Commissionerate has realised an impressive central excise duty of Rs. 1,096 crore up to January 2017 for the financial year 2016-17.
7.  Reforms impacting the poor severely: Raghavulu :  CPI(M) Polit Bureau member B.V. Raghavulu on Friday said that the scrapping of the Planning Commission by the NDA Government severely affected the development prospects of backward districts such as Anantapur and other drought-hit areas of the country.
8.  Sawang to visit UK Security and Policing Expo :  Police Commissioner D. Gautam Sawang will visit the U.K. Security and Policing Exhibition – 2017, being held at Farnborough, Hampshire, in United Kingdom from March 7 to 10. He will also visit the Command and Control Centre (CCC) of the London Metropolitan Police, in London.
9.  ‘INS Viraat museum project will depend on Centre’s nod’ :  There is still no clarity on the proposal to convert INS Viraat, the majestic aircraft carrier, into a museum, if the words of the Principal Secretary (Tourism) Srikanth Nagulapalli are any indication.
