Jaleel Khan, MLA from Vijayawada west landed in masjid land controversy. According to the latest Tarapet masjid committee members and VMC officials filed complaint with the One Town Police against six persons accusing them of creating tensions among muslims.
Inside talk is the six persons attacked VMC officials on duty and are spreading derogatory and insinuating comments against Jaleel Khan on social media. MLA has been facing insults since last April.
Jaleel Khan was angry with the masjid commitee for not inviting him for a crucial meeting over the issue of parting masjid land for road widening. Large number of muslims gheraoed him at the Tarapet masjid and burial ground last year August.
Muslims were not convinced by Jaleel Khan's promises to protect the mosque from getting demolished in the road expansion. Muslims say they don't believe that Jaleel Khan's actions are not giving them any confidence.
Jaleel Khan accused six member group of tarnishing his image by attacking VMC officials and also with the posts on social media.He said " I suspect the involvement of anti social elements in the postings against me on social media"
He added " I urge locals to look at the integrity and credentials of those people who have been obstructing the development". Police too suspected " we cannot rule out the possibility of involvement of outsiders in Tarapet masjid issue,as it is been almost a year since the issue came to light and not subsided so far"
