1.  Court converts farmer's plea into PIL :  Taking a serious view of the insensitive attitude of the electricity wingofficials and also their contractors who are not only laying power lines in farmers' fields without paying them compensation under the new land acquisition Act, but are also behaving in a high-handed manner against farmers who are questioning them, the Hyderabad High Courthas taken up their case as a public interest petition.
2.  ORR delay: HMDA hasn't acted against contractors :  The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has alleged that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority(HMDA) has not initiated any action against the contractors who delayed Outer Ring Road (ORR) work though there were provisions to collect penalty.
3.  Tukaramgate RUB derails as funds turn trickle for project :  Travel woes of over one lakh people traversing through the Tukaramgate railway crossing may continue for some more time as the state government is yet to release funds for a 'road under bridge' (RUB) near the Lalaguda railway station. 
4.  Tollywood brigade roped in for TOI's road safety campaign :  As road safety issues continue to haunt city roads and highways, the Telangana transport department in association with The Times of India launched an ambitious road safety campaign on Monday.
5.  Water Board sanctions Rs 5 crore for summer :  To overcome water woes in the ensuing summer, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has announced (HMWS&SB) has announced its summer action plan.
6.  Hyderabad techie's coffin arrives, Lennon lyric unites Kansas :  While Hyderabad went into mourning on Monday evening as the special plane from US touched down in the city with the coffin of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, the poignancy could not be missed in faraway Kansas where his friend and colleague, Alok Madasani, who returned from the jaws of death, made a passionate plea for tolerance in diversity. 
7.  Schoolchildren to brave blistering heat during their examinations :  School students will have to brave sweltering heat during their final examinations, scheduled to be held from early March, as day temperature is all set to touch 38-40 degree Celsius.

HC asks Centre :  The Hyderabad high court on Monday gave a day's time to the Centre to make its stand clear on a petition seeking to make the President a party to the case pertaining to the case related to the suicide of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula. 
9.  ATMs sport ‘no-money’ signs again, Hyderabad cashless :  The days of standing in long queues and returning dejected seeing 'No Cash' boards on ATMs are back for residents in several parts of the city.
10.  Public sector bank staffers on strike, cash situation may worsen :  Banking activities will come to a halt in the city on Tuesday with the United Forum Bank Unions going on a one-day strike to protest against alleged anti-people labour reforms.

1.  WCO certificate to A.P official :  Deputy Commissioner of Customs M. Sreekanth received the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Certificate of Merit for the year 2017. 
2.  New chairman of CII Vizag :  Vijayanagar Group owner D. Tirupati Raju has been appointed chairman of CII Visakhapatnam Zone for 2017-18. His selection was made at the annual meeting of CII here on Monday. He succeeds Dr. V. Muralikrishna.
3.  YSRC candidate files papers :  Kurnool district president of YSR Congress Gauru Venkata Reddy filed nomination as YSRC candidate for MLC Kurnool Local Bodies Authorities constituency before Joint Collector and Returning Officer C. Harikrishna on Monday.
4.  TDP fails to fulfil poll promises: YSRC leaders :  YSR Congress State general secretaries Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sagi Durgaprasad Raju on Monday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party failed to fulfil a majority of its poll promises including payment of Rs. 2,000 stipend to the unemployed youth. 
5.  YSRC alleges poll code violation :  Opposition YSRC has alleged that the announcement of allowance to the unemployed, setting up of NTR canteens and construction of 10 lakh houses by TDP was in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
6.  UGD works begin in Guntur :  Works relating to laying of Underground Drainage (UGD) pipelines in the city have begun with the contracting firm grounding the works at SVN Colony here.

9.  FICCI launches special drive to increase export turnover :  Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has launched a special drive to increase export turnover from tier-2 and 3 cities by creating awareness on ATA Carnets.
10.  APCOST celebrates ‘Srujanotsav 2017’ :  The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) in association with the Education Department conducted ‘Srujanotsav-2017’, in connection with National Science Day celebrations here on Monday. APCOST, a wing of Department of Environment, Forests, Science and Technology of the State government, conducted essay writing, elocution and drawing competitions for various school children at school, mandal, division and district levels, on the occasion.
