Are turncoats Telangana CM KCR's new love. Seems so if indications are any. KCR announced the list of TRS candidates for the MLC elections from the MLAs’ quota and Governor’s quota.
Elections to the three MLC seats is a foregone conclusion as TRS enjoys majority in the assembly. TRS announced V. Gangadhar Goud, Alimineti Krishna Reddy and Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao as its candidates.
But what surprised all is majority happen to be turncoats. While Goud,a TDP MLC defected to TRS, Hanumantha Rao is a TDP leader who joined Congress before 2014 elections and after losing the seat to TDP-BJP candidate Mallareddy,he joined TRS.
ALimineti Krishna Reddy is the only one who has been in TRS since its inception. Even in Governor’s quota, both the candidates announced by TRS — Farooq Hussain and D. Rajeshwar Rao — were Congress MLCs before defecting to the TRS. It has to be seen how KCR will react to the criticism that KCR is dependent only on defectors from other parties.
