1.  India snubs new UN chief, rejects mediation on Kashmir issue :  India has again reiterated that only a bilateral solution to the Kashmir issue is possible, amid signs that new United Nations (UN) secretary general Antonio Gutterres was looking at ways to break the deadlock between the two nations.
2.  Eleven CRPF men killed in Naxal attack in Sukma district :  Eleven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and three others injured in a Maoist attack near Bhejji in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
3.  All steps being taken to bring fugitives like Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi back to India: Arun Jaitley :  With the opposition demanding that the government list the efforts being made to bring back offenders like Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi, the Centre on Friday said the country's prosecuting agencies were resorting to all legal remedies for deportation or extradition and the government was moving to seal agreements with more countries so that economic offenders are unable to seek refuge in them.
4.  High court judge C S Karnan judge orders case against CJI, six SC judges & attorney general :  Calcutta high court judge C S Karnan held a "court" session at his residence on Friday , within hours of the Supreme Court issuing a bailable warrant for his arrest, and "ordered" that a case be registered under relevant sections of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against Chief Justice of India J S Khehar, other apex court judges and attorney general Mukul Rohatgi.

8.  Ajit Doval calls up Nepal PM as tensions flare at India-Nepal border, promises probe :  National security adviser Ajit Doval spoke to Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Friday amid rising anti-India sentiments after media reports claimed a Nepali national was shot dead by Indian troops in Kanchanpur abutting Lakhimpur Kheri following a clash over illegal construction of a culvert by some locals on Thursday.
9.  SC refuses to order CBI probe against scribes in Agusta deal :  The Supreme Court dismissed on Friday a petition seeking CBI probe against some journalists who were allegedly paid off by Italian company Finmeccanica and its subsidiary AgustaWestland to put out reports in favour of the controversial multi-crore VVIP chopper deal.
10.  No new window for banned notes: Government :  The Centre ruled out on Friday the possibility of opening any window for people to deposit scrapped Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes and told the Supreme Court that the deadline, which ended on December 30, could not be extended.
11.  Gilgit Baltistan is an integral part of J&K: Junaid Qureshi :  Junaid Qureshi, son of Kashmiri separatist leader Hashim Qureshi, on Friday said that Gilgit Baltistan is an integral part of Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan has no right to divide the state, ANI reported.

9.  Commonwealth Ministers commit to boosting trade :  Two-day Commonwealth trade summit concluded on Friday as Ministers from across the bloc committed to boosting intra-Commonwealth trade in the face of the growing clamour for protectionism globally. India, meanwhile, announced a summit on trade amongst Commonwealth SMEs (Small and medium-sized enterprises) in May.
10.  DŶsseldorf, Germany, March 10, 2017 (AFP) - :  The police have arrested an axe-wielding attacker believed to be suffering from mental health issues after he injured seven people at the main train station in Dusseldorf on Thursday. The 36-year-old man is from the former Yugoslavia. The attack occurred at about 8.50 p.m. local time.
