Telangana CM KCR is getting ready to steal the hearts of people of the state with the upcoming annual budget for the year 2017-2018. The state cabinet met at Pragati Bhavavn on Sunday and discussed allocations for Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, double bedroom houses, KG to PG free education and electricity for all programmes.
KCR approved many proposals worth over Rs 1.46 lakh crores. KCR asked the rural water supply department and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials to explain the loans raised by them to implement the schemes and even ministers raised questions on double bedroom house scheme.
Budget according to sources will be pro backward classes and pro poor. KCR directed GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy to complete construction of 50,000 houses in the next two years in the Hyderabad and Rangareddy limits. He also asked Mission Bhagiratha officials to complete the works related to pipeline laying across the districts.
However all his grand plans may get opposition shock. Congress and BJP earlier planned to boycott the budget opposing the suspension of TDP legislators. However they changed their strategy and decided to protest in side the house against the suspension of TDP MLAs Revanth Reddy and Venkatramaiah.
They felt boycotting will send wrong signals and so PCC chief Uttam Kumar reddy said “After consultations, it was decided to attend the session and protest,“ About the Governor's speech he said “We have identified several mistakes and wrong statements in the speech and will give it to media on Monday. Let us see how truthful the chief minister will be to keep his word on resignation,“
BJP is planning to ask the speaker to reduce the suspension for one or two days rather than the entire session.
