BJP, is no more dumb as it was before.Its aggressiveness and assertiveness together with the charisma of our Prime minister Modi worked magic. The reason behind their success might be because of the alliance made with Apna Dal (S) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) or Amit Shah's pick, Keshav Prasad Maurya as state unit head.Their tactical move was not nominating a chief ministerial candidate. The BJP's posters had just six faces. They were Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Rajnath Singh, Uma Bharti and Kalraj Mishra.
All of these four state leaders were carefully chosen.The polarising statements made by Modi turbocharged the Muslim voters toward his side.Theses tactics will not make a great impact in the South States.Mrs.Tamizhisai Soundarajan who represents BJP in Tamil Nadu doesn't have the charisma as that of her leader.BJP visibility among Tamils is very dull. A final push at scale to make an impact in assembly is really important to project BJP which is absent. The Tamilians are influenced by Dravidian politics which was propagated mainly through mainstream cinema by popular stars like MGR and powerful dialogues written by Kalaignar.
The Dravidian politics represents the people and it has tried to overcome the caste system, the dominance of upper caste (Brahmins). Tamil Nadu politics is very much influenced by caste, however, BJP is more inclined towards Hindutva and influenced by RSS ideologies which don't attract the Tamil people. The BJP does not have a powerful iconic leader to lead a good election campaign against the Dravidian duopoly.So it is really a tough time for the BJP's to gain positions in Tamil Nadu,Telangana,Andhra Pradesh in the near future.
