The people will support only performing governments which is proved from the recently held elections to five State Assemblies, said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Speaking to District Collectors, elected representatives and Heads of Departments through teleconference on Monday, Mr. Naidu said the election results mirrors the people’s concern for their future. It reflects the faith the people reposed in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The people has gave an opportunity to serve them and solve their problems. Make the best use of the opportunity, he told the elected representatives and officials.

Mr. Naidu recalled the discussion with Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who passed away on Sunday,  about development and laying of roads in the Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies. The MLA requested him to focus on the creation of infrastructure facilities, drinking, and irrigation water facilities, he said, adding, “lay emphasis on the creation of basic amenities in Kurnool district.”

Targets were not achieved and only 15 days were left for this financial year to end, the Chief Minister asked the officials to complete construction of four lakh farm ponds. So far only 2.66 lakh farm ponds have been constructed. Set a target of completing 500 farm ponds a day to reach the target. The Water Resources Department and the NREGS would have to work night and day with regard to soak pits and farm ponds.
