1.  Martyr's day: India remembers its beloved sons :   Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru - some of the most revered figures of the Indian freedom struggle - were hanged on March 23, 1931 in Punjab's Hussainwala (now in Pakistan). Their execution spurred many youth to take up the revolutionary path, playing a vital role in energizing the fight against the British empire. On Martyrs' Day, also knowns as Shaheed Diwas or Sarvodaya Day, Indians pay homage to the martyrs who infused fresh blood in the fight for India's independence.
  2.Surgical operation has cut terror attacks :  Terrorist violence and ceasefire violations in J&K have come down after the surgical strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the government told Parliament on Wednesday. 
3.  Yogi spots stained walls, bans paan-gutka in govt offices :  Chief minister Yogi Adityanath banned chewing of paan and gutka in all government offices across Uttar Pradesh after noting stained walls in the annexe building of his office in Lok Bhawan here on Wednesday.
4.  No talks with Swamy sans SC direction: Babri panel :  The Supreme Court's initiative to find an amicable solution to the Ayodhya issue seems to have hit a roadblock with Babri Masjid Action Committee refusing to talk to BJP MP Subramanian Swamy in the absence of a written direction from the SC.
5.  India eyes deal to repair Afghan aircraft, deepening military ties :  India is considering whether to pay for repairs to grounded helicopters and transport planes from Afghanistan's air force, signalling a willingness to step up military assistance for Kabul that has irked Pakistan in the past.
6.  Yogi to review SP govt moves of last 6 months :  Chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi declared on Wednesday that all decisions taken by the SP government in the last six months of its tenure would be reviewed.
7.  Abattoir of BSP neta, who wanted Prophet cartoonist beheaded, sealed :  Among the seven meat-processing units sealed in Meerut on Wednesday, two are owned by political heavyweights of the area. They include BSP leader Yakub Qureshi, who had gained international notoriety for announcing a Rs 51-crore reward for the head of the Danish newspaper cartoonist who had drawn a cartoon of Prophet Mohammad, and Shahid Akhlaq.
8.  Aadhaar for I-T returns: Chances of misuse become minimal, says Jaitley :  The government said on Wednesday that making Aadhaar mandatory for filing income tax returns was necessary to plug evasion and frauds as finance minister Arun Jaitley indicated that it could replace other identity cards such PAN and voter cards in future.
9.  No Indian casualty in London attack: Sushma Swaraj :  External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday night said there is no Indian casualty so far in the 'terror' attack near UK Parliament in which three people have been killed and over 20 people are injured.
10.  Illegal slaughter to be criminal offence in UP? :  Given CM Aditya Nath Yogi's focus on the subject, UP could soon become the first state to make illegal slaughter of animals a criminal offence.
11.  VK Sasikala flooded with hate mails in jail :  Incarcerated AIADMK leader VK Sasikala has received a barrage of letters from Tamil Nadu, accusing her of killing J Jayalalithaa. Angry letter-writers have said their curses will haunt Sasikala for ever, sources in Parappana Agrahara central prison said.
12.  US ban on carry-on e-gadgets will hit Indian travellers hard :  One out of every two passengers who fly from India to the US transit through airports in the Middle East like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and from Saturday they will need to check in all electronic devices sized larger than a smart phone like laptops, tablets, e-readers, cameras, electronic games, DVD players, etc.
13.  Martyr’s family receives Rs 9.5 lakh aid from Akshay Kumar, Saina Nehwal :  Family of Hira Ballabh Bhatt, hailing from Joelikote in Nainital, who was among the 12 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers killed in a suspected Maoist attack in insurgency-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on March 11, received Rs 9 lakh from Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Rs 50,000 from badminton star Saina Nehwal.

5.  Pak court may block FB to prevent blasphemy :  The Islamabad high court is considering blocking social media sites like Facebook to prevent dissemination of "blasphemous" content against Islam.The court will take the decision on March 27.

9.  Multiple bomb blasts rock migrant camp in Nigeria :  Suicide bomb blasts rocked a camp for migrants who have fled Boko Haraminsurgents near Nigeria's restive northeastern city of Maiduguri early Wednesday, officials said.
10.  Terror incident' near UK Parliament: Witness describes how police officer was stabbed :  Britain's Parliament was locked down on Wednesday after an attacker stabbed an officer and was then shot by police, and witnesses said a vehicle struck several people on the nearby Westminster Bridge. London police said they were treating the attack as a "terrorist incident until we know otherwise."
11.  London terror attack: 'India stands with the UK in the fight on terror', says PM Narendra Modi :  Following what UK PM Theresa May called a "sick and depraved" terror attack in London yesterday, her Indian counterpart PM Narendra Modisaid today that India "stands with (the) UK in the fight against terrorism."
