The state run Gandhi Hospital is making news for all wrong reasons and national media is ripping apart officials,doctors and nurses along with the ruling TRS government for the pathetic situation even as precious lives are lost with every passing second.
Telangana Health Minister Laxma Reddy made emergency visits twice with in ten days but much to the shock of all,instead of addressing the problem, he is in denial mode. Earlier Laxma Reddy visited Gandhi Hospital when the news of paralytic patient, S Raju, was denied a wheelchair and he used toy tricycle to enter the hospital.
Though the wide spread corruption was highlighted across the country, Laxma Reddy gave a clean chit to the hospital authorities. Now once again he made visit to the hospital after expired injections were administered to 12 children.
But much to the shock of all Laxma Reddy denied saying “The case sheets of the patients confirm that those controversial injections were not administered to the kids, as has been claimed by their parents,“. He added “I have also issued strict orders asking the authorities to immediately discard all expired drugs from the hospital,"
RMO, O.Saraswati is not yet suspended and Lakxma Reddy says “Henceforth, RMOs will be held responsible for anything that goes wrong in the hospital. Even if something happens after their duty ho urs, they will be held accountable and action will be taken against them,“
On the rampant corruption he said “Our intent is to flush out corruption from the hospital at all levels. I have asked RMOs and HODs to report to me any issue that they are facing and draw up a list of things that they want. I will ensure that their concerns are addressed.“
