A major shock is on the way for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Telangana state. The party's working president of the state and firebrand leader Revanth Reddy is rumoured to be quitting TDP and planning to join BJP soon. It's buzzed that Revanth had already sent his notice to the BJP and BJP is happy to welcome him and is keen on roping in Revanth to strengthen the party in Telangana.
BJP National president Amit Shah, who is set to visit Hyderabad on April 7th.And a private meet with Revanth is expected. And once the terms are locked, Revanth is likely to join the BJP in Amit Shah's presence during his visit to Telangana in May. It's said that few more Congress leaders and TDP leaders would also join BJP in Amit Shah's May visit.
But considering that Revanth statement that he wouldn't quit TDP that gave him a life, it needs to be seen whether Revanth twists his own word. If at all, Revanth too quits, this would be seen as a badsign to the TDP in Telangana which had once ruled the state and had strong grip in the region.TDP had been strong in Telangana from the grassroots and it had a strong cadre and leadership network at various levels in the region.
After formation of Telangana state and TRS storming to the power, slowly TDP has lost its cadre. It needs to be seen whether Revanth would jump to BJP and qit TDP. But politically, it is considered as a wise move.
