1.  Centre aid for revamp of 570 km road stretches in Telangana :  In less than three weeks after the new fiscal commenced, Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given approval for the development of 14 various road stretches in Telangana
2.  Diners can cheer, state to penalise hotels that fleece with service tax :  Two days after the Centre's ruling on stricter guidelines on service charge levied at hotels and restaurants, the Telangana government has decided to implement the orders.
3.  Rs 3,000 crore realty projects stuck over fire NoCs :  The fire services department and builders are at loggerheads over giving provisional No Objection Certificate (NOC) to stepped type and pyramidal type of buildings.
4.  GHMC opens adoption centre for stray canines at Jeedimetla :  The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation inaugurated the 'stray dog adoption centre' at Jeedimetla on Sunday with several non-governmental organizations (NGO) and pet lovers participation.

7.  Telangana Rashtra Samithi supporter hangs self, suicide note blames party :  A 42-year-old resident of Mailardevpally committed suicide on the Prof. Jayshankar Telangana State Agricultural University campus at Rajendranagar on Sunday.
8.  25-year-old 'strangled' to death by husband :  A 25-year-old housewife was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband at a relative's house in Tukaramgate on Sunday afternoon.
9.  On 2,000 postcards sent to K Chandrashekar Rao, one wish: Stay fee hike :  Seeking regulation of school fees across the state, members of the Hyderabad School Parents' Association (HSPA), mailed nearly 2,000 postcards, with messages, slogans and requests to chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, on Sunday.
10.  Glory restored: Statues of Telugu icons at Tank Bund get makeover :  Statues of 10 Telugu icons on Tank Bund were given facelift last week after much neglect.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  PD Act will be invoked: Minister :  Industries Minister N. Amaranatha Reddy on Sunday said the Preventive Detention (PD) Act would be invoked to check indiscriminate sand mining in the riverbeds and to implement the free sand policy of the government in its true spirit.
2.  In-charge SP for E. Godavari :  With the East Godavari district Superintendent of Police M. Ravi Prakash going on leave till May 20, Rajamahendravaram Urban Superintendent of Police B. Rajakumari has been appointed as in charge for the leave period. 
3.  Naidu: Plan to double farm productivity yielding results :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Sunday claimed that AP had been working for the last two years on a plan to double the productivity of the farmers with “good” results.
4.  TDP men ‘responsible’ for accident arrested :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday issued a stern warning against sand quarrying.
5.  TDP trying to control social media, alleges YSRCP city chief :  YSR Congress city president Vellampalli Srinivas on Sunday accused the TDP of trying to control the social media and warned the ruling party of serious repercussions.
6.  Jagan sees conspiracy behind Yerpedu tragedy :  Seeing a conspiracy behind the Yerpedu truck accident in which 14 innocent villagers were killed, YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday demanded a comprehensive probe by the CBI into the tragedy.
7.  CPI criticises govt’s special treatment to Baahubali -2 :  Communist Party of India secretary K. Ramakrishna on Sunday criticised the State government’s intention to overtly support the corporate sector, and cited the example of allowing extra shows (total six) of the Rajamouli-made mutli-crore film Baahubali-2, produced by a big media house.
8.  Cyber security lab coming up in Tirupati :  A world-class cyber security lab with the latest gadgets to carry out investigations and advanced research facilities is being established in Tirupati by the AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA), an autonomous body set up by the State government, to promote IT and electronics across the State.
9.  Power Ministers’ conference postponed :  The Power Ministers’ Conference scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on April 27 and 28 has been postponed. It is likely to be organised in New Delhi on May 3 and 4, according to official sources.
10.  Made in India’ steel to be mandatory in govt. projects :  Making use of ‘Made in India’ steel compulsory in all government/PSU-funded projects, raising per capita consumption from 61 kg to 160 kg, and increasing production from 120 million tonne to 300 million tonne by 2030 are the focus areas in the National Policy on Steel to be released shortly, according to Union Minister for Steel Chaudhary Birender Singh.
