People across the world cannot forget the shocking and brutal gang rape in Delhi in 2012. On Dec 16,2012 five men and a juvenile ,brutally raped 23 year old trainee physiotherapist in a moving bus for many hours.
The four convicts Mukesh (24), Pawan (20), Vinay (22) and Akshay (29) approached Supreme Court against the death sentence awarded by the trial court and Delhi High Court.Now speculation is increasing on whether Supreme Court will save them from the death sentence.
According to the latest a bench of justices Dipak Misra, R Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan will pronounce the judgment at 2.00 PM. The bench, after the extensive hearing had reserved its verdict on March 27.
The dastardly act resulted in widespread anger across the country. People cameout on streets demanding capital punishment. The juvenile who was the most brutal during the rape,escaped the capital punishment due to his age.
