Twice I kicked away the opportunity to become the Prime Minister in the interests of state development , says TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu .
Naidu who is distanced by the Federal front now in view of his megalomania, lust for power says that if he wanted he could have become PM twice during the UF government in view of the TDP’s strength as four times the party had played key role in shaping Opposition governments at Centre.
Naidu said the warring groups of UF wanted a compromise and non controversial candidates like him to head the Government but he had refused. ‘I had rejected offers from the NDA to hold key portfolios in Vajpayee cabinet, but that too I had refused ‘. But the JD(U) chief has a different story to tell that Naidu had scuttled chances of many senior leaders just to be on top of the coalition Government every time.
Naidu also took credit for lending the coalition mantra to the congress which gress copied it when they were convinced that they could never be in power on their own .
