Hyderabad sources have made a statement that before you apply for a driving license, check whether you have an Aadhaar card or not. Telangana RTA will make Aadhaar mandatory for getting a driving license.
It was stated that this rule was in force earlier, but was struck off later. However, the officials have planned to re-implement the decision by linking Aadhaar card with the driving license in order to know the details of the vehicle holder.
The officials believe when an accident takes place, Aadhaar card comes as
handy in getting access to the details of the victim which helps them in
securing compensation.
This new rule by the government had tensed many people who have come to the city for making their livelihood without Aadhaar card. The situation will create awareness among the people to make the Aadhaar ready.
