Telangana
1.  Week before deadline, two states still far from resolving assets distribution :  With Telangana and APslated to complete three years of existence on June 2, the two Telugu states are staring at an even more complicated future with more than a dozen key issues still awaiting resolution.
2.  Water Board to test RFID meters in three areas :  The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has decided to install 'automated water meters' on a pilot basis in three areas in the city.
3.  Skyway-hit traders cry foul, seek land rates similar to Banjara Hills :  Distressed over the proposed 'elevated skyway (corridor)' between Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and Shamirpet Outer Ring Road (ORR) eating into their properties and livelihood, traders in the Secunderabad Cantonment area have dashed off a letter to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and roads and buildings minister Tummala Nageswar Rao. 
4.  On a peace mission, Prince Tucy meets J&K guv with suggestions :  In sensitive Jammu & Kashmir where separatists have kept the state on the boil, the peace efforts of Prince Yakub Habeebuddin Tucy, the great grandson of the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar, seems to have yielded some results.
With the Centre's backing, Hyderabadi Prince Tucytoured Jammu and Kashmir and briefed governor N N Vohra about the sentiments of the people. 
5.  Andhra Pradesh seeks extension of section 108 of Reorganisation Act :  With very little time at its disposal, Andhra Pradeshknocked the Centre's door on Thursday, seeking extension of powers of President of India granted under the AP Reorganisation Act to resolve the contentious issues with neighbour Telangana.
6.  Construction debris chokes city; no movement on recycling plant project :  Construction waste strewn across the city is not only an eyesore but a serious health hazard, experts said. Despite plans that have been pending for a long time, the city is yet to get its first debris recycling plant.
7.  Shocker for workers: Saudi kafils declare them 'wanted ' :  Saudi 'kafils' are playing foul with Indians wanting to leave Saudi Arabia during the amnesty period and are creating hurdles for them to return.
8.  Official held for embezzling Rs 18 lakh madrasa funds :  Central Crime Station sleuths arrested a senior assistant working in the Hyderabad DEO office for misappropriation of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) funds allotted to madrasas. Police arrested M Yougender Kumar, 37, at Kids Paradise Playschool in Aliabad.
9.  Cisco to help government set up fibregrid in Telangana :  The Telangana Fibregrid project received a fillip with IT and networking major Cisco expressing willingness to set up a Technology Demonstration Network. 
10.  5 held for stealing cattle; targeted isolated sheds :  Task forcedetectives arrestedfive persons who were a part of a gang of cattle thieves at Madhapur.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Round table meeting :  Former vice-chairman of APSCHE P. Vijaya Prakash will speak on ‘Maritime landscape of Andhra Pradesh: Perspectives and prospects’ at a meeting to be organised by Centre for Policy Studies at Public Library here on Saturday at 4 p.m.
2.  NDA govt. ignoring State’s interests, says Congress :  Congress leaders led by DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah held a protest at the Indira Bhavan here on Friday accusing the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre of not fulfilling major promises to the newly created Andhra Pradesh as per the A.P.
3.  TDP second rung leaders restive :  Many Telugu Desam leaders, who have been loyal to the party for the last 30 years, are reportedly demanding nominated posts, ahead of the Mahanadu to be held in Visakhapatnam.
4.  Adopt advanced tech for better governance: CM :  Releasing a soft copy of the People’s Hub, an exhaustive common source of socio-economic data of the people of Andhra Pradesh, at the Collectors’ conference here on Friday, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called for adoption of latest technologies in serving the people better and ensuring accountability through biometric and sensor-based systems.
5.  Haribabu raps Kavuri for remarks on TDP :  BJP State president and Visakhapatnam MP K. Haribabu stated in a press release that the comments made by party leader Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on the functioning of the TDP government on Thursday were his personal views. 
6.  Congress will return to power: Veerappa Moily :  Charging the Narendra Modi government with failure on all fronts during its three-year rule, AICC leader and former Union Minister M. Veerappa Moily has exuded confidence that the Congress will return to power in the next elections.
7.  Flop show by Modi, say Congress leaders :  The country has retrogressed in the three-year rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Congress leaders Malladi Vishnu and Kolanukonda Sivaji. Addressing a press conference at Andhra Ratnabhavan here on Friday, the Congress leaders said Mr. Modi had failed on all the fronts. 
8.  Rail zone issue takes centre stage again :  The AP Reorganisation Act clearly provides for establishment of a new railway zone in Andhra Pradesh. All political parties in the State, as also the BJP- led NDA government, had declared Visakhapatnam as the unanimous choice for the headquarters of the proposed new zone. 
9.  You have lost people’s trust, ex-MLC tells CM :  In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Reddy said it was unfortunate that the YSRC MLAs were lured into the ruling party in spite of the latter having sufficient majority in the Legislative Assembly. By giving Ministers’ posts to the MLAs who got elected on behalf of other parties, the Chief Minister and his party lost the people’s confidence.
10.  IIM-V toppers share happy moments :  Toppers from the first batch of Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam who received gold medals from Board of Governors’ Chairman and Jubilant Bhartia Group founder Hari S. Bhartia said their two-year stint in the city was quite memorable and the guidance they received from IIM-Bangalore had made a difference in their life.
