1.  KCR toes Modi on cow, talks of animal protection panel :  Following the footsteps of the NDA government at the Centre, the TRS regime in the state on Saturday issued orders constituting societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals in each and every district .
The society headed by the respective district collector will "aid the government and the state cow protection and Goshala development committees".
2.  Congress will never tie up with TRS :  The Congress will remain open to alliances in the state with any party or groups but will have no ties with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti, senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy said.
3.  CM peddles 'daydreams' in Telangana, says S Jaipal Reddy :  Calling chief ministerK Chandrasekhar Rao a 'merchant of daydreams', senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy on Saturday called him out on what he called promises that cannot be kept.
4.  Saira returns from Saudi hell, whisked away by Hyderabad cops :  Saira Banu, the 23-year-old woman who was allegedly sold to a Saudi sheikh for 5 lakh, landed in Hyderabad on Saturday after the Shah Ali Banda police took steps to rescue her from Saudi Arabia.
5.  Hyderabad woman sold for Rs 3 lakh in Oman, beaten with belt : " My wife is being taken from place to place. She has been beaten with a belt and has injuries all over her body. Though she was taken for just one month, it is now four months and she is not being allowed to return," Gulam Hyder said.
6.  150 engineers to restore dug-up road :  The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board(HMWS&SB) has deployed 150 engineers to restore nearly 300 km of road stretches in the peripheral areas of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC). 
7.  Civic body nod to 2500km road cutting adds to trauma, recycling plan on anvil :  Last year, sanctions were given for cutting of roadsover 800 km for various works in the city. This year, the number has tripled to 2,500 km.  "We are in the process of selecting a site for setting up a waste management project that will recycle all construction and road cutting debris," GHMC additional commissioner N Ravi Kiran said.
8.  KCR distributes first set of maternity kits to 6 women :  Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday launched his pet scheme KCR Kits by distributing them to six women at the Modern Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburj in Hyderabad.
9.  Rs 1.15 crore in banned notes seized, 5 held :  Task force sleuths on Saturday busted a demonetised currency circulation gang and seized Rs 1.15 crore in banned notes from their possession.
10.  Rachakonda cops to install 224 HD cams :  In what could improve safety and securityof Rachakondacommissionerate residents, the police have on May 21 signed an agreement with private company Matrix Tech to set up 224 new high-definition cameras in their jurisdiction.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Arrangements apace for ‘MODI festival’ :  The Bharatiya Janata Party activists here are making arrangements for the three-day Making Of Developed India (MODI) festival to be held in the city from June 13, in which Union Minister Nirmala Seetharaman will participate as the chief guest.
2.  Committed to women empowerment: KEK :  The government was according utmost priority to the empowerment of women, as their support was crucial in bringing Telugu Desam Party back to power, said Deputy Chief Minister K.E.Krishnamurthy here.
3.  Propagate Central schemes widely: Venkaiah :  Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday called upon BJP activists to widely propagate the welfare programmes being implemented by the Modi government at Centre.
4.  TDP has failed to deliver, says Balineni :  The ruling TDP failed to deliver on all fronts in the last three years, YSR Congress State general secretary Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said on Saturday.
5.  No compromise on Central funds, support: Naidu :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday reiterated that he did not compromise on the funds and institutional support that were due to Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) from the Central government and asserted that the full benefit of the financial package which was offered in lieu of the Special Category Status (SCS) would start coming soon.
6.  Jaitley will re-examine some GST rates :  Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has agreed to re-examine the rates of tax on certain goods and services as requested by the Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu at the GST Council meeting held in Delhi on Saturday.
7.  Uncertainty over Naidu’s pet project :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s dream project AP Fiber Grid to provide Internet, TV and telephone through data connection to over 1.1 crore households with a speed of 10 to 15 Mbps at Rs. 149 per month may face stiff competition with the Reliance Group getting ready to launch its Jio Fiber project.
8.  YSRC seeks CBI probe into Vizag’s land scam :  Alleging the role of the Chief Minister’s family members and officials in land scandals, YSR Congress leader Botcha Satyanarayana has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the irregularities reported in and around the city." The YSRC has no objection if it includes land issues under the previous government too, but the inquiry should be handed over to the CBI,” he said.
9.  Vizianagaram bags MGNREGA national award :  The Ministry of Rural Development has selected Vizianagaram as one among the 17 districts across the nation for the MGNREGA annual award for effective implementation of the Act during 2015-16. 
10.  SCS: Cong. show of strength today :  The stage is set for the Congress party’s show of strength with regard to its efforts to achieve the Special Category Status (SCS). Party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and leaders of some important Opposition parties will address a meeting on the Andhra Muslim College campus in Guntur at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
