3.  This Indian-American among 12 new astronauts chosen by NASA has a Hyderabadi connection :  In the list of 12 new astronauts NASA has chosen from a a record number of over 18,000 applicants, the nameRaja Chari stands out as the only Indian American. What's even more interesting to note is that the 39-year-old Indian-American Lieutenant Colonel with the US Air Force has a Hyderabad connection.
4.  Telangana Edcet to be held on July 16 :  The Telangana education common entrance test to seek admission into B Ed colleges will be held on July 16.
5.  Water Board ready to spend Rs. 100 crore to provide water :  Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is ready to spend even Rs. 100 crore to provide regular drinking piped water supply to un-served areas like slums in the core city.

Andhra Pradesh
1.  Modi ensured corruption-free governance: Ananth Kumar :  Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Chemicals and Fertilisers U. Ananth Kumar on Thursday said the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre had delivered development along with corruption-free good governance in the last three years.
2.  12 red sanders smugglers nabbed :  Special police parties, led by Superintendent of Police Ghattamaneni Srinivas and Additional SP Abhishek Mohanty, on Thursday nabbed 12 red sanders smugglers, including three with international links, in the limits of the Puttur, Yerravaripalem and K.V. Palle police stations in Chittoor district.
3.  Land scam: Public hearing on June 15 :  Minister for Roads and Buildings and district in-charge Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu said here on Thursday that the government would spare no one it they were found guilty of tampering land records pertaining to the upscale Daspalla Hills in Visakhapatnam. A public hearing on the issue would be organised in Visakhapatnam on June 15, he added.
4.  Committed to providing BC status to Kapus: CM :  Making it clear that the State government was committed to according BC status to Kapus without affecting the existing reservation framework, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday advised members of the community not to fall prey to individuals who were disturbing law and order in the name of caste.
5.  Naidu rule smacks of failures, alleges Cong. :  The three-year-old Chandrababu Naidu rule smacked of failure on all fronts, said Congress leaders on Thursday.
6.  Judicial probe sought into water leak in Jagan’s chambers :  Communist Party of India (Marxist) State Secretariat member Y.V. Rao on Thursday demanded a judicial probe into the water leak in Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s chambers in the Assembly building.
7.  BJP national executive postponed :  BJP State president K. Haribabu on Thursday said the national executive committee meeting of the party, slated to be held in Visakhapatnam on July 15 and 16, was postponed in view of notification issued for the presidential election. 
8.  Cycles hired for TDP’s rally :  TDP leader Devineni Avinash hired about 200 bicycles for the activists and college-goers to take part in the rally.
9.  Aircraft museum project all set to take off :  The government’s TU-142 aircraft museum project on the Beach Road here is all set to become a reality, as the land issue with Andhra University (AU) has been sorted out, said District Collector (DC) Pravin Kumar here on Thursday.
10.  GDP growth rate up during last three years, says Gehlot :  Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot has claimed that the Centre-State relations have improved and the foreign policy strengthened besides making rapid strides in the GDP growth rate during the three-year BJP-led NDA rule.
