1. Amend law on animal protection : In a judgment of far reaching consequences, Justice B. Shiva Shankar Rao of the Hyderabad High Court said the time has come to amend the law with stringent penal consequences and strict enforcement of Prevention of Cruelty against Animals Act by amending the Act of 1960 and also in respect of laws covering prohibition of cow slaughter.
2.  HC directive to Education dept. officers : A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar and Justice Balayogi directed officers of the Andhra Pradesh Education Department to appear in a contempt case arising out of implementation of unified service rules for teachers.
3.  All set for TS-SET tomorrow :  The State Eligibility Test (SET) of Telangana to identify eligible candidates for lecturer posts in universities and government colleges will be conducted in 110 centres.
4.  Ready to sign MoU with TS, says Haryana Chief Minister :  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said he was ready to sign a memorandum of understanding with Telangana soon for cultural and educational exchange of ideas and also for tourism.
5.  Warangal Smart City project reviewed :  Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Navin Mittal has asked the consultants of Warangal Smart City Project to complete the planning, designing and tendering process within two months.
6.  TDP plans demo on land scam :  Telugu Desam Party senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy demanded a CBI inquiry into the Miyapur land scandal involving 632 acres of land costing about Rs. 15,000 crore.
7.  Campaign to conserve water yields result :  The campaign by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to promote water conservation has yielded result with water conservation structures coming up in 600 villages in the erstwhile Karimnagar district.
8.  Fourth person arrested in Bojagutta land scam :  The Hyderabad Central Crime Station sleuths arrested one more person, Mohammed Basheer, in the sensational Bojagutta land scam case on Friday.
9.  Govt plans to hold Iftar on June 18 :  Telangana Government is organising ‘Iftar’ feast to mark the holy month of Ramzan here on June 18.
10.  Haryana CM gets warm welcome in Karimnagar :  Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was accorded a warm welcome by the BJP rank and file during his maiden visit to Karimnagar on Friday to participate in ‘Modi Fest’, 


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Social media being used for wrong reasons :  Technology helps in cracking crime but at the same time it also helps in evading enforcement. The City Task Force (CTF) of late has been experiencing an uphill task in curbing flesh trade in the city.
2.  ‘Use technology for less cost more yield’ :  Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa has advised the farmers to use technology to reduce input costs in agriculture and get more production in every season.
3.  Eruvaka will be celebrated as farmers’ fest: Minister :  “All over the State, a festive atmosphere is prevailing and the Eruvaka will be celebrated as a farmer’s festival,” Mr. Reddy added.
4.  KEK warns of stern action on spurious seed sellers :  Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy on Friday warned of stern action against spurious seed sellers in the State and advised farmers to be wary of such products.
5.  Left plans protest against police action on ryots :  The CPI and CPI(M) will stage protests in all the 13 districts in the State on June 12 resenting the police firing and lathicharge on protesting farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab and Tamil Nadu, CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna and CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu said on Friday.
6.  ACB registers another case against tainted ASI :  The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered another case against tainted ASI B. Mohan Reddy, who is already arrested and jailed for property disproportionate to his known source of income, for misuse of his office and forcibly occupying property belonging to a person in Secunderabad.
7.  Focus is on providing 24x7 power, says Goyal :  With surplus coal and power, the Union Government is focusing on providing round-the-clock power to people, including the farming community, Union Minister for Power Piyush Goyal has said.
8.  Kozhikode on edge as CPI(M)-BJP workers clash :  The acrimonious relations between the CPI(M) and BJP appear to be taking a turn for the worse with skirmishes between activists of the two parties erupting in different parts of the State, particularly in the north.
9.  Athlete calls on Collector :  Sprinter Jyothika Sri, an athlete selected to represent India at the International Amateur Athletics Federation’s World Youth Championships, met the District Collector B. Lakshmi Kantham here on Friday. 
10.  Amnesty scheme extended to June 30 :  An “Amnesty scheme” to enrol left-out workers in the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation and ESI has been announced by the government.
