8.  JEE Advanced results: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh bag 7,502 ranks In IIT :  It was double cheer for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh this year at the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced). The twin states put together had the highest number of rankers with 7,505 of them qualifying, and the success tally also nearly doubled.

Andhra Pradesh
1.  Settlers from T.N. districts aiding woodcutters :  Woodcutters from Tamil Nadu alighting from trains and buses between Panapakam and Chandragiri railway stations, carrying with them axes, machetes, and food material and trespassing into Seshachalam Hills is a thing of the past. Now, the woodcutters find support, shelter and guidance from about 500 families residing in various hamlets abutting the foothills of Seshachalam.
2.  ATM theft attempt: West Bengal native remanded in judicial custody :  Jogesh Mandal, who was arrested on the charge of an SBI ATM theft attempt at Mananchira on Saturday, was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days on Sunday. The investigating team also recovered all the raw utensils that he had allegedly used to break open the ATM kiosk on June 8.
3.  I stand by my word: MLA :  Reiterating his controversial comment against government employees, YSR Congress’ Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy has said that he sticks to his stand vis-a-vis “a section of the employees.”
4.  Cong. seeks Shah’s apology for ‘ Chatur Baniya’ remark :  Echoing the sentiments of party leaders at the national-level, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Sunday demanded that BJP national president Amit Shah tender an unconditional apology for terming the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi a chatur Baniya .
5.  Bhadradri temple belongs to A.P. :  In a statement that may have far-reaching political consequences, Bharatiya Janata Party MLC Somu Veerraju has said that the Bhadrachalam temple belongs to Andhra Pradesh and that it was the Congress government that handed it over to Telangana on a platter.
6.  Cong. shedding crocodile tears over farmers deaths :  Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday accused the Congress of shedding crocodile tears over the farmers’ deaths, and said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi was known for using deaths of people as photo-ops to gain cheap publicity.
7.  Economy doing well, says Venkaiah :  The country is leading over several nations, including China, with over 7%GDP growth and inflation at 4% under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, compared to high inflation of 12% during the regime of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has said.
8.  Ganja smugglers arrested, arms seized :  The elusive Nekkanti Srinivas alias Baba Chowdhary of Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district, who is believed to be one among the kingpins for ganja smuggling in the Agency areas of Visakhapatnam, and three others were arrested by the police late on Saturday night.

Venkaiah Naidu has said it should aspire to emerge top in Swachh Survekshan rankings and everyone should make endeavour to make it an international city in India.
10.  Farmers’ protest in State on June 15 :  All India Kisan Sabha vice- president R. Venkaiah on Sunday said a nation-wide strike would be staged on June 15 in support of the farmers who lost their lives in Madhya Pradesh.
