The maiden cargo flight between Afghanistan and India carrying Afghan goods landed in New Delhi safely and it was received by Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The flight was carrying 60 tons of Cargo and it was flagged off in Kabul by President of Afghanistan, Mr.Ashraf Ghani.


Various cabinet ministers of Afghanistan were present during this flag off. As per reports from ANI, this will provide Afghanistan to have access to markets in India and will also allow Afghan businessman to have some good economic growth.



Deepak Mital who is the Joint Secretary said this will enable Afghan farmers to get quick and direct access to Indian markets for all their perishable goods. Soon this air cargo flights will fly to other cities between India and Afghanistan said a spokesperson.


This decision to initiate an Air Freight Corridor was taken after a meeting happened between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani in September 2016.
