Two guys namely Rajkumar Naidu from Karnataka and Harischandra Nanasaheb Dorge from Pune are basically Chemistry graduates used their knowledge of chemicals to start a factory that made Mephedrone, or MD, which is a dangerous synthetic drug that has become hugely popular in Mumbai.
It was stated that drugs were manufactured in a factory at Karnataka and the goods were kept at Pune factory and dispatched at Mumbai. The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) stated that “The drug is banned by law, but the chemicals needed to make MD are easily available.”
Naidu was working in chemical factory
and he had come to know about Praveen Wagela at an agro chemical exhibition
last year. Wagela said the idea about making drug and promised to give more
money in return. Since there was a ban on Mephedrone since January 2015 and
increased surveillance, an increasing amount of the drug is being recovered in
2016, 269 kg was recovered by the ANC, in the first five months of this year, and
208kg has already been recovered from them.
An ANC Officer said the street price of the drug in Delhi is Rs. 40 lakh a kg. Money had covered face of Naidu and he joined the idea and made huge lump of money and thus was arrested and is in jail.
