A Deputy Superintendent of Police was stoned to death by a mob in Srinagar. Deputy SP Ayub Pandith was on duty when the mob started to pelt stones at him. The mob stripped him naked and then stoned him to death.
As per sources, Deputy SP Mr.Pandith was clicking photos outside the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area. He was taking photos and videos of everyone coming out of the mosque by midnight 12 am. He was doing his duty as Separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was inside the mosque at that time.

As they were on frisking duty they were not in the uniform. As he was attacked, Pandith even fired from his pistol which resulted in the injury of 3 people. But even then, the mob overpowered and killed him. What is, even more, worse is, Umar Farooq never even bothered to prevent and save the man who was protecting him.
