Infosys has now agreed for a settlement $1 million for violating the US visa requirements for foreign workers .Instead the workers were placed in New York jobs without paying the pre fixed wages and taxes owned on them. After this litigation, Infosys declared that it maintained a set of protocols and procedures to make sure that they abide with all applicable regulations and laws.
New York State Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman clarified that the settlement is done with the procedures. Infosys brought foreign IT personnel violating the visa rules into New York for their work related procedures.
To perform this kind of work services offered foreign worker definetely needs an H1-B visa. But to avoid the difficult process that is usually involved in obtaing the h1B visa after Trump's tightening of visa rules and the extreme expense involved in obtaining such visas, the company knowingly violated and unlawfully obtained temporary visitor visas (B-1 visas) which is comparatively easily available compared to H1b visa.
This is the litigation and the company settled $1 millon dollars to be relieved form this act of violation. The settlement is the latest tax-related recovery to the Us Government filed under the New York False Claims Act.
