Chitoor is native for both CM Kiran and Opposition leader Chandra Babu. All three political parties (Congress, TDP and YSRCP) taken these village panchayat elections are seriously. The district has highest number (1356) of village panchayats in the state. Elections took place for 32 major Panchats in this month.

Peeleru and Valmikipuram are two major panchayats in CM peeler segment. Even though three parties announced their candidates but real fight is between Congress and YSRCP in these two. Chandragiri segment is prestigious to both Minister Galla Aruna and TDP President CBN. Naravaari Palem native village of CBN comes under Chandragiri. Hard fight exists between TDP and Congress. Triangle Fight also imminent in Renigunta also. TDP is far ahead over Congress and YSRCP in Kuppam and Ramakuppam major panchayats. In Thiruchanur, tough fight exists between Congress and YSRCP. Congress party has clear domination over it’s rivals in Bangarupaalyam, Gurramkonda, Kalikiri and Peeleru village Panchayats. TDP has already won Narayanavanam panchayat unanimously. Party is in first position in Polakala, Varadayyapalem, V.Kota, Rompicharla, Chowdepalli and Kuppam panchayats. YSRCP lead in Arakonda and Valmikipuram.

After completing the nominations for Village Panchayats in the district, it came to be known in 83 panchayats single nominations were filed. TDP has won as many as 27 panchayats unanimously. YSRCP stands in second place in gaining unanimous panchayats and ruling Congress slipped to third slot. These elections are important for many leaders in the district for many reasons.
