1.  Akbaruddin Owaisi attack case: Pahelwan acquitted, 4 others convicted :  Six years after the murderous attack onMIM legislator, Akbaruddin Owaisi, a local court in Hyderabad convicted four men and sentenced them to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment. Prime accused Mohammed bin Omer Yafai alias Mohammed Pahelwan and nine others were acquitted .
2.  ‘No mob lynching in my name,’ decries Hyderabad :  Taking a cue from the nationwide "Not In My Name" protest against incidents of mob-lynching across the country, hundreds of civil society members turned up at Tank Bund and staged a silent protest 
3.  Stink rises in Osmania General Hospital, patients helpless :  One of the oldest hospitals in India, the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) presents a dirty picture, replete with filthy wards and stinking toilets.
4.  Do not panic over GST, Etela Rajender tells traders :  Telangana state finance minister Etela Rajender on Thursday called on traders to not panic over introduction of GST. 
5.  Minister fumes as acquisition of land for highways crawls :  Angry at the snail's pace of work on the process of land acquisitionfor upgradation of state highways into national highways, roads and buildings minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday issued a stern warning to the officials concerned and directed them to complete the process within the stipulated time.
6.  Big cocaine haul by task force in Kondapur, 4 held :  Task force police on Thursday arrested four drug peddlers and seized LSD, cocaine and other narcotic substances from their possession.
7.  Support for MIM rivals, land row seed of dispute :  Once on good terms with MIM, differences between Mohammed bin Omer Yafai, alias Mohammed Pahelwan-led group, and the Owaisis arose over a land parcel in Balapur.
8.  Telangana govt to hand over ORR maintenance to private agencies :  Taking a cue from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the Municipal Administration and Urban Development(MA&UD) department has given an in-principle nod for handing over the responsibility of maintaining the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to a private agency on a Toll Operate Transfer (TOT) basis for a period of 20 or 30 years.
9.  Telangana Eamcet: 11,000 engineering, pharmacy seats vacant :  After the first phase of seat allotment for engineering, agriculture and pharmacy courses on Wednesday, 11,457 seats were left vacant of which 8,254 engineering seats and 3,203 pharmacy.
10.  151 endangered species in Telangana identified :  As many as 151 endangered speciesof plants and vertebrates have been identified in Telangana, said to be exclusive to the state, after a meticulous scientific survey was done here for the first time.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Women protest against new liquor policy :  Women representatives from various organisations and political parties staged a protest against State’s liquor policy and voiced their views against it at Velagapudi here on Thursday.
2.  ‘Exempt medicines, equipment from GST’ :  A.P. Medical and Sales Representatives’ Association members staged a demonstration before the Collectorate here on Thursday opposing the levy of 28% GST on medical equipment against the existing tax of 15%. 
3.  Jana Sena screening camp :  Jana Sena State vice-president Mahidhar Reddy inaugurated a two-day screening camp in Kurnool on Thursday to select persons aspiring to join the party.
4.  CM’s inaction aggravated Garagaparru issue: Mudragada :
 Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s inaction had aggravated the Garagaparru Dalit’s social boycott issue in West Godavari. 
5.  Complete court complex in one year, Kollu tells officials :  Minister for Law Kollu Ravindra on Thursday expressed his unhappiness over the tardy progress in the construction of civil courts here on Thursday and asked the contractors and the officers to complete the seven-floor building in one year.
6.  MRO complains against Cong. leader :  Nuzvid Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) D. Vanajakshi, against whom the police registered a case under the SC/ST Act, had lodged a complaint against Congress leader Vakkalagadda Vijay Bhaskar for allegedly harassing her over phone.
7.  GST meet for entrepreneurs :  The local branch of Marwari Yuva Manch organised a seminar to create awareness on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) for entrepreneurs.
8.  CM to visit Pedalabudu in August :  All development works proposed at Pedalabudu, adopted by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, should be completed at the earliest as he is scheduled to visit the village on August 9, Collector Pravin Kumar has said.
9.  Time-bound plan to complete irrigation projects: CM :  Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said a time-bound programme had been developed to complete the irrigation projects. He said Rs. 40,000 crore had been spent so far and this year another Rs. 10,000 crore would be spent on them.
10.  Dashboard an effective tool: Lokesh :  Minister for Panchayat Raj (PR) and Rural Development N. Lokesh on Thursday suggested that the department officials be given access to Core Dashboard developed for tracking of 18 types of work being executed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
