1.  Flood gates of Babli Barrage opened :  The flood gates of Babli Barrage, constructed across the Godavari by Maharashtra in Dharmabad Taluk of Nanded district, were lifted on Saturday, in accordance with the Supreme Court verdict of 2013 to let the river water flow downstream into Telangana.
2.   Metro box bridge will be a feat :  
 In about a fortnight, the giant steel girders doting the Bhoiguda sky near the Secunderabad station which took the form of a steel box bridge of 83 metres length (272 ft) will be ready to move onto the railway tracks on the Oliphenta Bridge.
3.  ‘It will create a lakh jobs’ :  Terming the roll out of Goods and Services Tax (GST) as a historic occasion, Union Minister of State for Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said that it would streamline tax structure and create one lakh jobs within three months.
4.  Tier-II travellers match wanderlust with metros :  Not just upwardly mobile, big city travel enthusiasts are packing their bags for exotic vacations in India and abroad, travellers from small-town India too are giving them stiff competition when it comes to satiating their wanderlust.
5.  Telangana set to generate 5000MW solar power by  2019 :  Telangana is set to cross the 5000 MW solar powergeneration capacity by 2019 , more than the 1300 MW installed capacity at present. 
6.  Cannot sell realty projects without watchdog listing :  Any builder or developer found selling flats or plots without registering the project with Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), may be jailed for three years or asked to cough up 10% of the estimated cost of project as penalty. 
7.  Telangana in the Top-5 list of states with max green violations :  Data available with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) show that Telangana registered 31 such cases in the last two years - pushing it to top 5 list of states in India with the maximum number of green crimes.
8.  Minister KTR enthrals textile investors with `Meet & Beat' offer :  Armed with a challenging offer, industries and IT minister KT Rama Rao lured industry bigwigs to invest in Telangana at the India Textile Summit held in Ahmedabad. The 3-day summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. KTR's `Meet and Beat' offer has attracted the attention of more than 150 national and international investors. 
9.  No toll tax: Goods vehicles can zip past check points :  Vehicles carrying goods need not pay octroi and toll tax at check points in Secunderabad, thanks to the new GST regime.
10.  Hyderabad says cheers as pub bill dips, tax on eatables reduces to 18% :  It's business as usual for tipplers in Hyderabad and Telangana with liquor prices remaining steady post-GST. However, some customers were thrilled after receiving a reduced bill in the tax regime.


Andhra Pradesh
1.  Many traders shut shop in Anantapur :  With the Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime coming into effect from Saturday, several businesses have either shut shop or halted business for the day unaware of the tax impact on their business.
2.  ‘Close liquor vends near residential areas’ :  All India Democratic Women’s Association functionaries took out a rally from Sundaraiah Bhavan and demonstrated at the Excise Superintendent’s office here on Saturday demanding closure of liquor shops on highways, near religious places; educational institutions and residential areas.
3.  YSRC leader grievously injured in attack :  YSR Congress leader Chinnapu Reddy, 45, was grievously injured when miscreants waylaid and attacked him with hunting sickles near the vegetable market in Pulivendula town of Kadapa district on Friday night. 
4.  Improving green cover need of the hour: Chinarajappa :  Mr. Chinarajappa said that improving the green cover was the need of the hour in the State and the district as uprooting trees became necessary for purposes such as expansion of roads.
5.  CPI(M), CPI differ on evictions :  The sharp differences between the CPI(M) and CPI over the eviction of encroachers in Munnar came to the fore on Saturday, with Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan staying away from the meeting of political party leaders and revenue officials convened by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here.
6.  Gold, cash seized at Tirupati railway station :  A routine checking exercise resulted in the seizure of cash and gold ornaments worth more than Rs. 55 lakh at the Tirupati railway station on Saturday.
7.  Govt. abolishes border check-posts :  With rolling out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the State government disbanded the border check-posts on Saturday. There are 21 border check-posts in the State.
8.  One held on land grab, cheating charges :  The PM Palem police on Saturday arrested Cherukuri Sudhakara Raju on the charges of cheating and grabbing land by forging documents and fraudulently selling government land to a person.
9.  GST Day organised :  The Visakhapatnam Central GST Commissionerate organised GST Day at the Central Excise building here on Saturday.
10.  Credai urges govt. to rein in sand mafia :  The free sand supply policy introduced by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is taking a beating with trucks transporting sand from Srikakulam district being seized without any valid reasons, Credai representatives said.
