As per report from sources it was stated that BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday had called Israel "a true friend of India" and said that he was proud that his party had "prioritized" ties with the country. Meanwhile when hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "historic" visit there, he said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Indian counterpart were strong-willed leaders who are committed to eliminating terrorism.



He said Modi was rightly focusing on areas like agriculture, irrigation, water resources, disaster management and trade. He added that as the BJP president he feels proud of the role played by the BJP in prioritizing ties with Israel, a true friend of India".

Meanwhile he had noted that it was under the first NDA government, headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee that an Israeli prime minister had first visited India and currently Modi had undertaken this visit and added that right from the special program to all the programs the given reception will always be remembered forever by Modi.
