The women folk of Hindupur town on Sunday have stormed and staged a protest opposite the house of Nandamuri Balakrishna who is the local MLA. They have demanded that a liquor store being opened in their colony be removed immediately. They threatened to damage the house at one stage.
In fact, the new liquor store which was recently opened was very close to habitations and in fact, even closer to the TDP legislator and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s residence in Hindupur. Krishnamurthy, the personal assistant of Mr. Balakrishna, and other leaders of the TDP present there pacified them.
They have promised the women that the problem would be resolved and the liquor shop shifted from the locality as soon as possible. TDP supporters of the constituency say that it is a manufactured protest fueled by the Opposition YSR Congress Leaders.
