Just less than a month after Anil Kumble left the Indian cricket team coach after a cold war with Virat, former Team Director Ravi Shastri has been privileged officially appointed the new head coach.
BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which is made of former players Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.They together as a panel interviewed five candidates - former Indian cricketers: Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag and Australian cricketer Tom Moody Lalchand Rajput and Englishman Richard Pybus before handpicking Shastri to fill the empty vacant position of Team India's head coach.
The final decision has been taken only after discussing with skipper Virat Kohli, who is the main reason former coach Kumble to step down.Ravi Shastri has now signed a two year contract, and thus he will be the head coach when India plays the 2019 ICC World Cup.The appointment of Ravi Shastri as Team India's coach has not gone well with hardcore Indian cricket fans who feel that he will just act as a 'Yes Yes Man' to skipper Kohli.
