Noted leader and a political veteran Kotagiri Vidhyadhara Rao passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was a close aide to N T Rama Rao and started his political career in 1983.
Till 2004, Vidyadhara Rao never tasted defeat but after that he broke from TDP and joined Chiranjeevi and eventually into congress. While his demise is being mourned by many in political circles, it is also raising new challenge for the Congress party. The constituency of Chintalapudi in West Godavari has become vacuum.
Vidyadhara Rao had a strong clout in this region and there was no other leader like him. With 2014 elections fast approaching, the Congress needs a strong man to handle this area.
