J&K CM Omar Abdullah and the President of Kashmir based National Conference reportedly made it very clear that they are fully opposed to the formation of separate Telangana state. It has to be noted that in Kashmir, Abdullah is facing trouble to divide the state based on Muslim majority Kashmir Valley, Hindu dominated Jammu and Buddhist dominated Ladakh.
In addition to this, the problem of terrorism has been affecting the state for the last 25 years. Though the party has less number of MP’s in the Parliament, however sources say that their opinion matters a lot as they are a key ally of UPA government and Omar is known for his insightful and practical inputs.
All eyes will now be on the parliament sessions when the Telangana bill will be presented and it is here that Omar Abdullah has to show his power. There are reports that he is already in talks with few other allies who are vehemently opposing this decision. The uprising against Telangana has begun.
