After threats by fringe groups impacted the release of Padmavati, now Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has threatened to stall the release of Salman Khan's tiger Zinda hai, if Maharashtra theatre owners do not offer Prime slots for Marathi film Deva. Ameya Khopkar, the chief of the cell, threatened that if the film is not accommodated, and if the other Marathi film Gachchi don't get enough screens, the tiger will be facing trouble.

Ameya said, "we're here to serve Marathi, and we urge government and theatres to coexist with Marathis giving ample scope for Marathi film industry too, and if the theatres aren't giving enough space for Marathi Films, we'll create ruckus and tiger Zinda hai release will be stopped by us for sure".

However, theatre owners are sticking to their decision of giving more screens to Tiger Zinda hai, as they want themselves to be commercially safe after another biggie Padmavati pulled out. It's to be seen if tiger releases as planned, as MNS has a history of troubling films in the past too, as they troubled movies like Ae Dil hai mushkil, Wake up Sid and Shahrukh Khan's Raees.
