Nizamabad MP Kavitha has recently met the union aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju to revive the long delayed Nizamabad domestic commercial airport project at Jakranpalli. Though an 800 acre land had been acquired by the previous Congress government, in the Hyderabad - Nagpur national highway, no further progress has been made.
Kavitha also insisted the minister quoting that, the BJP
government at centre has so far inaugurated numerous domestic airports during
its tenure, but hasn't taken any action towards the existing and proposed
project of Nizamabad commerce airport.
There has been no initiative from the airport authority of
India for almost three years in this regard, and added that Nizamabad , Bodhan
and Kamareddy were Main business centers of the state from where transactions
happen to gulf countries. The aviation minister has replied positively that a
feasibility report will be made.
