Coming against US President Donald Trump's actions and proposals against H1B visas of Indians, India's apex IT body Nasscom has criticized that this move of Trump will be having a negative impact on US economy as well. Nasscom has exposed that US has always had a huge skill gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and hence it will result in loss of skilled labor for US.
Nasscom president Chandrashekhar has said that out of 2
million STEM jobs, 1 Million is in IT sector, and this movement by US
government will impact the Economy of US. H1B visa was a common way for Indians
to work and earn in US, and enables Indians to stay and work in US for 3 years,
and if applied for green card, the stay can be extended indefinitely.
However with the new proposal of Trump, whose motto has always been Buy and hire American, Indians who have H1B and their spouses settled with them will now be in trouble as their jobs and their livelihood will be in huge trouble. Since Trump came to power last year, strict bureaucratic laws have been implemented, making it tough for fraudulent and illegal entry into US.
